Hello readers,
And we’re back to April again. This newsletter marks 2 whole years that I’ve been doing this, plus my author career. A lot has certainly happened in this time, and I thank each of you for being on the journey with me.
Spring is finally arriving after what feels like forever. The dull dreary days are passing, and although the cold is still lingering, we have some progress. Before long it’ll be warm again, and look! we have pretty flowers out now too.
During March I went to London and had a great time exploring. I finally got to go to the recently opened Hunterian museum which is filled with all sorts of anatomy, from humans to animals. There was all sorts to see, including samples with abnormal lumps, bumps, and deformaties. I won’t talk about this too much as it isn’t for everyone, however, if you like anatomy, it’s certainly somewhere to go (and it’s free).
I also stumbled upon tanuki! Four of them, each a different size. Of all the things to find in an antique shop, I never guessed it’d be tanuki! Of course I had to buy one…
I wish I could have had them all, they’re delightful, and I’d love to have more yokai around. My favourite is the last pic, but he was very pricey!
On Ream
For the latest chapter in Unbound by the Sea we’re with Haruna, but things don’t seem to be going the way she planned… With her father’s avoidance, it’s no wonder she acts the way she does.
Unbound by the Sea is a romantasy I am currently writing, set in a land inspired by Asian countries such as Japan, China, and Korea. You can read it now over on Ream!
Tales of Yamato
Tales of Yamato was released on March the 5th! It’s been wonderful seeing what people think, and I’ve already had a few reviews put on both Goodreads and Storygraph.
I’ve also put the ebook up for purchase on itch.io! I’m trying to find all the places where it can be seen by everyone. If you’d like to see the other places to purchase check out https://books2read.com/talesofyamato
And if you’d prefer a signed copy, I’m selling them directly from me! You can grab a copy by emailing me at odessasilverauthor@gmail.com
As for writing more, I’m still taking a break from this project right now, but I hope to get back to it soon!
Other Projects
I haven’t had much time for new projects yet, though this will change soon enough. I have a new unnamed project that I’m hoping to start this month, and that’s all I’m going to say for now!
I have also put Of Spells and Love up on itch.io so now it’s not Ream exclusive.
This short story is about a young caprinae scholar who hides away at the bottom of the ocean hoping to avoid how she feels—or doesn’t feel—certain love for other people. But as the pressure builds, can she keep everything under control? A certain treasure she finds may hold the answer to all her problems…
Want to find new authors and/or books to try?
Every month I like to share books from other indie authors who are trying to make it also. For April I have Fantasy and Sci-Fi books to share, so come and have a browse through 100 different books, all free: https://books.bookfunnel.com/aprilfantasyscififreebies/4ex5qigdv0
Things I am reading/watching/listening to right now
I thought it might be fun to start a new section and tell you about different media I am interested in right now. This time I’m going to share a song which I’m loving a lot. I have to thank Spotify for showing it to me though, it was determined to get me to listen to TEN and I can see why now. I hope you enjoy!
Thank you for reading this far. Want to chat? Comment on the substack post or even send me an email. I’d love to hear from you.
See you again in the next newsletter.
