Hello readers,
It’s the last newsletter of the year, and it has certain been a long one. The cold weather has wrecked me once again, causing me all sorts of pain that doesn’t want to shift easily. It’s made writing and editing much harder, but I’m battling through it as much as I can. During these times, my cat, Phoebe, likes to cuddle me even more, and we wrap up together.
I’ve also spent a lot of time indoors this month, so I don’t have any other pictures to share this time (unless you want to see the biggest jacket potato I’ve ever eaten. I took a pic of that!). My focus has been trying to work hard on my editing, writing, and balancing all the other things in my life.
On Ream
For this month on Ream I shared another chapter from Unbound by the Sea. We finally get to meet Kyung, my favourite character. He will definitely be appearing more in future. In this chapter we also get to meet his brother Hinata, who will also be making a big appearance.

Tales of Yamato
Tales of Yamato is coming along nicely, though much slower than I ever anticipated. I’m working hard on each story, and I have now completed editing 8 out of 14 stories. A lot of those needed a bunch of work and I took the time to really go through them line by line. The stories around the middle were a lot more complete than others, so the editing was much more minimal. Altogether though, I’ve added quite a few words to really flesh out areas and make them clearer. The banes of being an underwriter!
What’s to come
Once I am closer to finishing editing Tales of Yamato, I will open up for ARC readers. I can’t comment on how soon it’ll be though, as the editing is really not going on the schedule I had in mind. Once I only have one or two stories left to edit, I’ll be collecting names of those wanting to ARC read. Then I plan on giving everyone at least a month to read and review before the book is finally released! I don’t want to secure a date yet because of my health being so out of control. It’s really frustrating, but the safer option.
In the mean time, I’m also continuing on with Unbound by the Sea and once I have enough chapters out on Ream, I’ll slowly be releasing it on other platforms.
In 2025 I hope to be writing more Tales of Yamato stories for a second book, as well as looking at other ideas I have and want to flesh out. I have many abandoned ideas I’d like to start working on again, and I also might need another break from Tales of Yamato before returning there. I really enjoyed writing the world Noemi came from (the caprinae in Of Spells and Love) and would like to explore that, as well as going back to a whole world I built based on a zodiac idea.
I will also be doing a revamp of my substack real soon, updating and refreshing things as I know it needs some upkeep. I’d also like to start writing some articles again, though at a much slower pace than before as I burnt myself out.
I’m really only just getting started with everything and trying to work out how to navigate with all my chronic illnesses. I keep thinking I have everything under control and then poof something unexpected comes along. I thank you all for sticking around and I hope you look forward to all what comes next!
