Hello readers,
It’s that time again, and for once it feels like it’s been a whole month. May didn’t fly by and has been full of many things. This month with the weather being warmer and nicer I have been outside a bit more (although typical UK weather also brought a shit ton of rain too yay) and I even spotted this amazing flower bush blooming. At first I thought the flowers were fake as I found some on the ground, but no! My camera didn’t quite capture the full vibrancy but wow they were really something.
On Ream
This month over on Ream I posted the next chapter of Unbound by the Sea, as well as a completely new story.
Here is a preview from the newest part of Unbound by the Sea;
The emperor pretended to be every part of his regal self, but the signs said otherwise. Bags surrounded his eyes through his lack of sleep and his voice crack with overuse. However, the most telling sign was his hair. Khi-Katsuo’s black hair was once dotted with grey strands giving the impression of the tough stones of Mokuratsu-ji, but now it had weathered away to pale greys and whites. Age had finally caught up to him.
It’s been really fun writing this novella and I hope to have more up soon!
As for my newest story, I had the theme of LGBT+ and it took me writing three different stories to finally end up with something I liked. I often have queer characters in my stories so normally it wouldn’t be a problem at all, but for some reason this time nothing seemed to want to work. I went through writing about angel-like beings, to a full draft with a multi-world heist, and finished on a simpler story about a young woman feeling crushed by the guilt and anxiety of society’s expectations for love and relationships. I love writing this piece, and not only that, the worldbuilding I made for it was so rich, I definitely want to revisit it.

Tales of Yamato
Not much to update with Tales of Yamato for this month. I have now found a developmental editor who is working hard, and once I get my document back, I’ll be dedicating my time to editing it!
June is pride month and alongside other Ream authors, we are all sharing a LGBT+ free story over on our Ream pages!
Chris Bannor has a m/m story called No Matter the Interface: “They say love resides in the human heart? But what if you're an android?”
Heather Hallow has a m/m story called First Pride: “Stacey's never been to Pride before, never lived in a world where such things were possible. Can it possibly be that he recognizes a face from back home? From the place where all of this was forbidden?”
Karistina Lafae has a queer story called Pride & Joy: “Witness the intoxicating power of connection as Sirena's bisexuality and polyamorous nature guide them towards two captivating souls - a loving boyfriend and an alluring trans woman - sparking an irresistible flame that defies societal norms”
